The Heritage Patriots took charge of the Norse Invite at Northfield High School Saturday and returned home to Monroeville Road with a trophy in hand.
Head coach Matt Smith praised the efforts of his team, especially Jaxon Hoting, who led a trio of Patriot runners in the top ten. Hoting finished fourth in 18:23.4, helping Heritage to a 20-point victory over second-place Manchester.
Also in the top ten were Corban Roth (6th in 18:35) and Marshall Harris (10th in 19:14).

The Patriots got excellent results from Hayden Amstein and Cooper Naatz, as well, with both runners breaking the 20-minute mark and finishing in the top 20.

In the girls’ race, Heritage finished in fourth place. Woodlan put five runners in the top 13 to win the team race.
Ava Smith had the best time for the Pats, taking sixteenth place in 25:12.
Elise Hissong crossed the line directly after Smith in 17th. Danica Fuller finished 20th in 26:21.
