“We still have a lot of things I’d like to fix. We have to tackle better, we have to work on fundamentals and get healthy.”
Adams Central head coach Michael Mosser knows how to say all the right things, but in his mind, he knows his team dominated an Eastside team with 400 yards on the ground and no reason to throw the ball, beating the Blazers 42-7.
Mosser knows that after a 2-0 start, his team now faces a game that is likely to not be competitive, with upstart Blackhawk Christian coming to Monroe for a Week Three showdown. The Braves have just one score in their first two games as a varsity football team in the 11-man game.

When Mosser’s team heads to Jay County in Week Four, they’ll likely be back to full health and ready to defend their ACAC title. The Jets will give valuable experience and playing time to some of the reserves and be primed for what they hope is a run of games that lasts past Thanksgiving Day.

With the last four contests between the two schools finishing 25-21, 21-19, 28-14 and 21-14, one might have expected the game to be another competitive tilt, but Mosser’s run-heavy offense dominated throughout, racking up 417 yards and scoring 28 first half points on four short touchdown runs.

Keegan Bluhm opened the scoring with a three-yard score, the only one in the first quarter. The senior finished with 119 yards on just 15 carries. He scored twice more in the next two quarters.
Jack Hamilton put the Jets up 28-0 with his second keeper touchdown, pushing it in from one yard out.

One sore spot for the Adams Central coaching staff was a touchdown allowed by the defense to Eastside in the dying moments of the second quarter. Wyatt Davis ran it in for the Blazers.

Matt Heiser triggered the running clock in the fourth quarter with a four-yard run to put the team up 42-7.

Hamilton had the biggest chunk of yardage with a 61-yard run in the first half. That run allowed him to lead the team in rushing with 177 yards.

Ryan Tester contributed 53 yards on just six touches, while Aaron Hirschy ran the ball five times for 30 yards.
Davis led Eastside in rushing with 49 yards. The quarterback was 4 of 12 in the air for 58 yards. He was picked off twice by Matt Kaehr.
Kaehr, Heiser and Jamison Roach each had tackles for loss against the Blazers.
