The City of Decatur has received another annexation request.
Steve Kreigh of Ideal Realtors in Decatur has formally asked that the city annex nearly 25 acres of land contiguous to the Meadows of Cross Creek, on the northwest edge of the city.
The land in question is on the northwest side of the current Meadows subdivision, moving toward the Barrington Woods subdivision.
City Attorney Anne Razo has been asked by Kreigh to prepare a fiscal plan for the annexation, which she has agreed to do. City council approved her doing so.
City council just recently approved the requested annexation of an area of the Lake Shores subdivision on the east side of the city.

The area annexed there involved 24.219 acres to the south of the subdivision.
Some 65 lots are expected to be carved out of that area in the next few years, according to city Councilman Matt Dyer, a resident of Lake Shores.
