
Norwell would fall at home to Mississinewa in their home opener 23-21. Knight QB Drew Graft would open up the scoring on a 5 yard keeper, with Austin Deleon converting the PAT. The Indians would score in the 2nd on a Nolan Quaderer 9 yard run. Norwell would answer right back just before the halftime break on a 27 yard pass from Graft to Trace Moser. Mississinewa would then score 17 unanswered, starting with a pass from Graft intercepted by Deakon Dilts, who would return it 64 yards for a touchdown. Mason Reel would hit a 23 yard field goal, and Quaderer would score on a 1 yard run. Norwell would come back in the 4th with 5:02 remaining, as Graft connected with Trey Bodenheimer for 63 yards and the Deleon PAT, but the Indians would drain the clock on the final possession. Graft would finish 7-16 passing for 157 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception, and also ran 8 times for 24 yards and a score. Timothy Bonjour led the Knight rushing attack with 80 yards on 23 carries. Trey Bodenheimer carried 4 times for 11 yards, and also caught 4 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown, while Trace Moser caught 3 for 50 yards and a TD.

Next up for Norwell will be a trek down to Delaware County to take on the Delta Eagles, who opened with a 35-14 win over Muncie Central.
Southern Wells went on the road and defeated Elwood 29-26. Bryar Gearheart rushed 19 times for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns. Case Boxell ran 14 times for 68 yards and a touchdown. This is the first victory for the Raiders since a win over Heritage back in October 2019, though they did not play in 2020. Next up will be a road game at Madison Grant, who beat Tri-Central 58-27.
Bluffton picked up a win at Northfield 47-6. No stats have been provided as of Sunday morning. The Tigers will host Manchester, who come off a win over North Miami 34-24.
