The Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF) is pleased to announce that The Hope Clinic received a grant from the Wellman Family Fund for Safe Sleep Program supplies. The Hope Clinic was able to purchase cribs, pack n plays, sleeper blankets, and sleep baby books for The Hope Clinic clients.
Jim Heckman, the Hope Clinic Executive Director, expressed his appreciation for the Safe Sleep supplies, which will supply multiple families with safe sleep supplies for their babies.
Chris Pierce, ACCF grants committee member and retired healthcare employee, added that this type of program in Adams County is very necessary to provide services to Adams County residents that experience unplanned pregnancy.
The Wellman Family Fund was established in 2013 with a bequest from a member of the Wellman family. This fund will provide support to four areas in our community in perpetuity: St Joseph School and St. Mary’s Church, Decatur, Indiana (Adams County) / Holy Trinity Church, Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bryant, Indiana (Jay County) / Hope Clinic and the Adams / Wells Crisis Center.
