One of the most popular events in Decatur is just a few weeks away. It’s the Fall Fest for the St. Mary’s parish and it’s a decades-old festival that involves a big chunk of the city’s population.
Taking place this year on Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 10th, the Fall Fest includes lots of food, activities for kids and adults, and live music.
The event is not just for parishioners at Adams County’s largest catholic parish, but for everyone in the city of Decatur and surrounding community.
One of the key components to the event is the $10,000 raffle. Tickets for the raffle cost $20 and are a must-have if you are going to attend.
If $20 is too salty for you, it might be worth checking out the $1 chance auction instead.
Food, which is prepared and served by members in a variety of styles, will be served beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday night. Adult attendees will also be invited to join in the festivities by visiting the beer tent, which is open until 11 p.m.
A large silent auction runs throughout the night Saturday, with proceeds benefiting the ministries of the parish and its adjoining school.
Decades will be the live entertainment for the night, beginning at 7 p.m.
Sunday’s activities include bounce houses for the kids, live entertainment from various organizations, including Razz M’ Jazz Dance Studio and more.
Businesses and individuals interested in supporting the festival are encouraged to contact St. Mary’s.
