With the changing of the calendar comes a major change in Willshire, Ohio.
As of August 1, Becky’s Village Restaurant becomes Everett Family Restaurant, under the ownership of Taylor and JJ Everett.
Becky Genth has sold the popular eatery to the Everetts, saying that it’s time for her to slow down. She will, however, continue working at the restaurant on a part-time basis.

Taylor Everett, who will manage the newly-named restaurant, is no stranger to the business. The native of Ansonia, Ohio, began working at Becky’s 10 years ago, at the age of 18.
She’s also had some other jobs, Taylor said, including at Manley Meats, where she met her husband, JJ (James), five years ago.

As of January 1, 2022, JJ Everett, Matt and Mark Manley and Jennifer DuBois, became the owners of Manley Meats.
Taylor says the restaurant’s hours will remain the same and “it will be mostly the same foods.”
Taylor and JJ and their three children – Zoe, Oakley and Albany – reside in Decatur. JJ is a Bellmont graduate.
Becky and her father, John Bunnell – onetime owner of the Preble Gardens restaurant/bar and currently a resident of Atlanta – purchased the Willshire business in 1996. She built the business into a popular place for folks from Ohio and Indiana to gather and to dine.
In announcing the change, Becky said the Everetts are “the best people ever to take this place to a new level. Please back them as you have backed me for 26 years. Bless you all and thank you for letting me serve you all these years.”
