Thursday evening’s thunderstorm that struck Decatur washed away a scheduled Madison St. Plaza concert by a popular tribute band. But Chamber of Commerce officials are attempting to reschedule.
A Chamber official said Friday morning that three possible dates are being looked at, but nothing definite had yet been worked out.

“Looking forward to coming back to Decatur!!” the band, E5C4P3, posted on the Chamber’s Facebook page Friday night.
The Journey tribute band was set up and mostly ready to go for a 7 p.m. performance on the plaza stage when the thunderstorm rolled in just before 6 p.m. (See photo by Janelle Young.)
Band members and Chamber people quickly attempted to cover the band’s equipment and the band was planning to go forward with the concert when the rain stopped. However, it was discovered that some of the equipment had gotten wet, so that ended hopes for the night.
The concert was to be the eighth of the Chamber’s 2023 Summer Concert Series.
