On Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at approximately 7:53 AM the Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle personal injury accident on Covered Bridge Road just west of 000 Road.
Upon arrival, emergency first responders discovered three injured people in a silver Toyota Scion and one injured person in a white Ford Escort.
According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of the Toyota, Stacy Mowery of Decatur, IN. was traveling east bound on Covered Bridge Road and crossed the center line striking the Ford Escort driven by Yvette Weiland of Geneva, IN.
Ms. Mowery was taken for immediate medical attention and is in stable condition. Also taken for immediate attention was the front passenger of the Toyota, Dylan Franks of Bluffton, IN. Mr. Franks is in stable condition at this time. Severely injured in the accident is the rear passenger of the Toyota, Dakota Burrow of Bluffton, IN. Mr. Burrow is currently in critical condition at a Fort Wayne, IN hospital. The driver of the Ford Escort, Mrs. Weiland, was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital with several injuries and is currently in stable condition. All conditons reported were as of the time of the press release on Wednesday afternoon.
The Indiana State Police, Fort Wayne Post, was called in to do an accident reconstruction. The ISP
reconstruction team was on scene and is currently investigating the cause of the accident. This accident is still under investigation by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police. Assisting with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Geneva Police Department, Berne Police Department, Geneva Fire Department, Bluffton Police Department, Adams Memorial Paramedics and the Indiana State Police.
