A Thursday night performance on the Madison St. Plaza in Decatur will kick off a busy three days for The Ultimate Doors tribute band (photo).
After performing here – 7-9 p.m. – the band will move to Grand Rapids, Michigan, for a Friday show, then to Indianapolis for more of the same on Saturday.
The band says it provides an authentic looking and sounding tribute to the late Jim Morrison (whose final performance was December 12, 1970, in New Orleans) & The Doors.
Nash Stover takes on the role of Morrison with the tribute band.
As usual, food vendors and adult beverages from 2 Pour Guys will be available for Thursday’s concert, the fourth in the Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s annual series.
Ava Rash will sing at 6:45, before the Ultimate Doors take the stage. Rash, 20, is a senior at Purdue Fort Wayne studying the music industry.
Last Thursday’s concert turned out well, considering several issues. Aimee & Dave out of Indy offered up an excellent performance subbing for Island Vibe, which opted out due to a health issue.
A threat of rain held down the crowd and some cold temps rolled in toward the latter part of the show.
Due to the needed change in scheduling, Bellmont student Riley Thieme sang before Aimee & Dave went on, not at intermission.
