The Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF) recently awarded a grant to American Legion Post 43 for flooring replacement. Over the last few years, the Post has worked to repair and replace the roof that leaked. Unfortunately, due to the water andrain, the flooring sustained damage. In efforts to maintain the floors, the carpeting had been cleaned numerous times, but water stains continually reappeared. Therefore, it became necessary for the flooring to be replaced.
LouAnn Bultemeyer, American Legion Post 43 officer and grant writer, expressed appreciation to the ACCF on behalf of the Post and their patrons for the support for the new flooring. Greg Fleming, ACCF Board of Directors and grants committee member, added that the ACCF is pleased to support the American Legion. Fleming added that the community needs to support our military veterans, but noted the maintenance of this building is very important for the safety of the attendees of the activities on the Madison Street Plaza. The American Legion serves as the storm shelter for downtown visitors and residents.
This ACCF grant was made possible through unrestricted funds sponsored by the Adams County Community Foundation and the Greg Fleming Family Community Enrichment Funds. The Adams County Community Foundation Community Enrichment Fund provides support for programs that support youth, family, and community.
The Greg Fleming Family Community Enrichment Fund was established in 2007. Greg graduated from Bellmont High School and Tri-State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. As a life-long Adams County resident and a father with two daughters, Kelsey and Sherice, Greg and his wife Barb have been wonderfully reliable supporters for community events and programs.
