Island Vibe has canceled its appearance on the Madison St. Plaza this Thursday due to a health issue.
The Decatur Chamber of Commerce has secured a duo, Dave and Aimee, to replace Island Vibe.
Rod Bowers and Doug Laughlin comprise Island Vibe, which has played the plaza in the past. Bowers, however, said on Facebook that he has been dealing with prostate cancer for some and very recently underwent surgery.
“We have unfortunately canceled some of our dates. We are looking forward to getting back to normal as soon as possible,” Bowers said in the Facebook post.
Aimee and Dave say they are members of The Doo! Band out of Indianapolis. “When we aren’t performing with The Doo! Band you can find us performing as an acoustic duo,” they said. “We’re just two people who love to play live music! We cover songs of all genres …”
They will play from 7 to 9 p.m.
Intermission entertainment will be provided by Bellmont students Riley Thieme, Ava Rash, Addie Wagner and Sophia Fisher.
Food vendors will be on hand and adult beverages will be provided by 2 Pour Guys.
