A special event added to Decatur’s Fourth of July celebration will be a July 3 appearance of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic on the Madison St. Plaza.
The Patriotic Pops with the Philharmonic is sponsored by Adams Memorial Hospital as part of its 100-year anniversary.
The Philharmonic will be bringing a full Pops orchestra, which will be about 65 or so musicians. The concert will consist of beloved favorites like “Star Spangled Banner”, “God Bless America”, and the “1812 Overture”, as well as Pops songs such as the music of Star Wars, and The Magnificent Seven.
The Monday, July 3, music will begin at 7:30 p.m., but those planning to attend are encouraged by hospital officials to arrive early for free treats.
Those 2 Pour Guys will be providing wine slushies and a cash bar, and the hospital is also partnering with Andy’s Coney Bar for free hot dogs and root beer floats.
