The Decatur Water Department will be testing fire hydrants and cleaning water mains on Monday, May 8, through Wednesday, May 10, and again from Monday, May 15 through Wednesday, May 17.
To reduce the risk of possible damage to laundry items, department officials recommend that on the dates listed local residents conduct all laundry work after 5 p.m.
The schedule follows:
May 8: Starting at the east water plant and continuing west to the Wendell Macklin Bridge on Monroe St., and north to CR 200 East and north to Bellmont Road.
May 9: South of Macklin Bridge to Erie Railroad and west of
Macklin Bridge to 13th St.
May 10; South of Erie Railroad to Bollman St. and east of the Penn Central Railroad to Parkview Dr. Also, Homestead Addition.
May 15: West of 10th St. to 28th St. and south of Monroe St. to CR 450N.
May 16: North of Monroe St. to North Pointe and east of Penn Central RR to St. Marys River.
May 17: North of Monroe St and west of Penn Central RR.
