(February 11, 1927 – March 23, 2023)
Ronald R. Buschman, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Swiss Village where he had been a resident since September 2, 2016. The son of the late Raymond and Florence (Whitman) Buschman, Ron was born on February 11, 1927 in Hinsdale, Illinois. On June 3, 1949, Ron married Betty Josephine Hackleman, she preceded him in death in 1999.
Ron grew up in Downers Grove, Ill and lived there until 1969, before moving to Stillwater, MN due to his job transfer with Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired after 35 years of service with Burlington Northern. Ron served his country in the United States Army during WW II.
Ron was a lifelong member of the 1st Baptist Church in Downers Grove and then the Stillwater 1st Baptist Church (Oakridge Community). He was very active in the Awana Program both in Downers Grove and Stillwater. He drove the church bus full of kids to camp every winter and summer. He was very active in the ministry and a strong supporter of Camp Lebanon in Upsala, MN. He loved Southern Gospel Music.
Ron enjoyed fishing and spending time at Big Marine Lake at the family cabin. He was very devoted to caring for his grandchildren and took them to the lake whenever he had the opportunity.
He is survived by a son, Ross (Linda) Buschman of Berne, IN; 2 grandchildren Michael and Erica and 5 great grandchildren.
Ronald was preceded in death by a son, Lewis Buschman in 2019.
Per family’s request there will be no services and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Stillwater, MN at a later date.
Preferred memorials are to Camp Lebanon in Upsala, MN and can be made through the funeral home.
