A downtown Decatur wall is getting a facelift.
In preparation for the September opening of Betsey’s Boutique Shop in the former Bear’s Den location on Second St., between Monroe and Jackson streets, the shop’s name will be emblazoned across the building’s north wall, which overlooks a parking lot.
The Bear’s Den closed on May 5 of this year, merging with Mind’s Eye Graphics. Don and Pam Bergdall opened the Bear’s Den in 2016.
Betsey and Trent Gamble along with Rob and Jacque Welch purchased Mind’s Eye from original owner Greg Kitson in the spring of 2022.
The Gambles are opening the boutique shop here, with a Grand Opening scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This will be their 13thlocation. The business was founded in 2011 in Rockford, Ohio, and has grown to 12 brick & mortar stores throughout the Midwest, including three franchise locations.
