A back-and-forth tussle between two football powerhouses went from a tied game at halftime to a comfortable and impressive 21-point victory for Adams Central at Tippy Valley Friday.

Three fumbles by the home Vikings and a long, time-consuming drive by the Jets in the fourth quarter made the difference.
The teams traded punts in the early going and it wasn’t until midway through the second quarter that the Jets finally got on the board. Jami Roach capped off a 14-play drive with a sneak up the middle but the PAT was missed.

The Vikings then went on their own long drive, going the whole 80 yards to eat up the rest of the half to tie the game at six going into halftime.

After one of their three fumbles, Adams Central needed just two plays and 14 yards to gain the lead back in the third quarter, with Roach scoring again from a yard out.
The Jets went for two, but failed to convert and the lead was six with six minutes to play in the third.

When the Jets got another short field handed to them, Godfrey Shoaf made the Vikings pay with his second touchdown of the night.

Valley answered with a quick, seven-play drive, but it was the final score for the home team, who simply could not stop the Jet running game on the subsequent drive. By the time Jami Roach scored his second one-yard touchdown, the Jets had milked eight minutes from the clock, gone 65 yards in eleven plays and taken a 14-point lead.

Roach sealed the game for Adams Central with his third score of the game with two minutes left. He finished with 99 yards on the ground and was 4 of 6 in the air for 53 yards.

Shoaf led the Jets in his first game as the main option with 107 yards and two TDs.

Hunter Paxton and Grant Paxton combined on QB duties for the Vikings for 171 yards passing.

Griffin Bluhm and Reece Hammond shared the AC lead with eight tackles apiece.
Adams Central will host Jay County in their conference opener next Friday.
