The IHSAA state cross country meets were held Saturday in Terre Haute.
In the boys’ race, Westview’s Noah Bontrager was denied a state title in an agonizing way, being passed at the line by Springs Valley’s Calvin Seitz. Both runners were credited with the same time, but the photo finish gave the title to Seitz, a junior.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ race, Carmel edged out Concordia Lutheran for the team state title.
Indian Creek’s Libby Dowty dominated the field late in the race, winning in 17:10 by beating Macey Thompson of Lake Central by eight points.
