Eight members of the Class of 2026 for Bellmont High School celebrated with their parents, family and friends as the girls soccer program at BHS had its Senior Night festivities prior to the team’s NE8 game against New Haven.

With the Bellmont Braves in the hunt for yet another NE8 team title, the early celebration allowed the team to be solely focused on beating DeKalb next week for the outright championship. That match against the Barons can be heard on 92.7 FM.

The Braves’ seniors left the pitch together Monday with a 4-0 lead and another conference clean sheet intact, giving way to younger players to see out the rest of the victory.

Bellmont got into the scoring column early with a Maggie Wilson goal, then another junior, Maya Schlemmer scored for the home team, who went into the halftime talk up 2-0.

Two goals by Kaitlyn Barton in the second half put the game away for good.

Emily Barton continued to show that there was no doubt she is the first-team All-NE8 goalie again in 2025. She left the field with her classmates with her clean sheet upheld, allowing sophomore Mary Bleke to play the rest of the game between the posts.

The game rarely saw play on the Braves’ side of the field, with much of the action being played in the final third of the Bulldogs’ own side. New Haven’s London Miller allowed three of the goals, while Autumn Aguilar allowed the other.

The Braves have outscored NE8 opponents by a combined score of 18-0 through five games. They’ll play at East Noble Wednesday.
