A brutal final stretch of the regular season for the Adams Central Flying Jets saw coach Rob Earl’s team travel to the cage at Concordia for a clash with the Cadets. The meeting was set to serve as an opportunity for the team to play against SAC competition in case they were drawn with Bishop Luers in the local sectional – which is exactly what happened in Sunday’s draw.
Concordia took the victory and moved to 9-12 on the season with a 66-39 victory.
“I’m proud of the girls,” said coach Earl to WZBD.com Monday night, “they played hard. I thought the game was closer than the final score showed.”
Earl said the Jets specifically struggled with the height of Concordia.
“We battled with their bigs and my girls gave me everything they had but we just could not make any progress inside and get rebounds. They killed us with those putbacks.”
