Charles F. Fell, 84, of Decatur, IN, passed Thursday, November 29, 2024, at Adams Woodcrest Memory Care in Decatur, IN. He was born March 6, 1940 in Wells County, IN to the late Earl and Mary (Leimenstoll) Fell.
Charlie attended rural Lucky School in Union Township before going to Adams Central in Monroe, IN. In 1955 Charlie began work at the farm of Roland and Sarah Beer where he was welcomed and loved as a son and brother. It was at the Beer farm that Charlie met Arlene Reinhard when her family came to visit. Charlie and Arlene were married on June 17, 1961.
Charlie worked 5 years at Berne Master Mix Feedmill; 15 years at Alvin Hilty Construction; 7 years as owner of Fell Cleaning Service before retiring on his 80th birthday following 28 years of service at South Adams Schools.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl & Mary Fell, Foster-parents Roland & Sarah Beer, brother Ralph Fell, foster brother Ed Beer, and daughter Sarah.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Kathryn Arlene Fell; daughter, Charlene (Fred) Lookadoo; three grandsons, Jonathon Lookadoo, Joel Lookadoo, Paul Stuckey; one granddaughter, Mary (James) Powers; two great-granddaughters, Chloe and Harper Lookadoo; one great-grandson, Jimmy Powers; two foster sisters, Judy (David) Fleming; Nancy Birch and foster brother Phil Beer.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 1:00 Friday, December 6, 2024 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, followed by a 1:00pm service also at the Funeral Home. Pastor David Cox will be officiating. Burial will follow at MRE Cemetery in Berne, IN.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene in Berne, IN or Adams Woodcrest Memory Care, Decatur, IN.
