The Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF) is pleased to announce that the North Adams Church of Christ was recently awarded a grant for an HVAC Unit. The church, located on Cleveland Street in Decatur, was informed early this year that their heating system was broken and not repairable. Since that time, they have been raising funds for a new system. In efforts to raise additional funds, the North Adams Church of Christ applied for an ACCF grant.
Jim Voglewede, North Adams Church of Christ Minister, expressed appreciation for the support from the Adams County Community Foundation for the HVAC unit.
Greg Fleming, ACCF Board of Directors and grant committee member, added that the ACCF is pleased to support North Adams Church of Christ and their service to our community.
This grant was made possible by the Daniel Niblick Family Community Enrichment Fund. Daniel Niblick Family Fund was established in 2004. The long, respectable history of the Niblick family is recorded back to 1866 when Jesse Niblick and John Crawford purchased the landmark store. Since 1930, Dan Niblick, with children Harold and Mildred operated the store, referring typically to its shortened version as simply: Niblick’s. Best remembered by local residents, siblings Harold and Mildred Niblick operated the store until it closed January 1996.
The ACCF and this community is fortunate to have this forever-gifting from the Niblick family.
