{"id":9635,"date":"2023-11-16T05:34:42","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T10:34:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=9635"},"modified":"2023-11-18T15:20:06","modified_gmt":"2023-11-18T20:20:06","slug":"lower-corn-prices-might-stick-around-awhile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2023\/11\/16\/lower-corn-prices-might-stick-around-awhile\/","title":{"rendered":"Lower corn prices might stick around awhile"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>CARAH HART<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Brownfield Ag Network<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A grain market analyst isn\u2019t optimistic corn prices will improve much before next spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe numbers are just not there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard Brock with Brock Associates says USDA\u2019s November Supply and Demand report was a game changer with a 1.9 bushel\/acre increase in the national average corn yield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat that does is it takes the carryover to 2.2 billion bushels plus and the stocks-to-usage ratio to 15%. The last time we had a balance sheet like that was in the 2018\/2019 marketing season and corn averaged $3.61 a bushel that year, $1 lower than where we are now,\u201d he says. \u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s going to happen, but what we do think is going to happen is this will result in the cash corn market going flat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.madisoncabinets.com\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"76\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Madison-web-ad.jpg?resize=640%2C76&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Madison-web-ad.jpg?resize=1024%2C121&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Madison-web-ad.jpg?resize=300%2C35&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Madison-web-ad.jpg?resize=768%2C91&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Madison-web-ad.jpg?resize=1536%2C181&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Madison-web-ad.jpg?w=1938&amp;ssl=1 1938w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Madison-web-ad.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He says that means more corn is likely to stay in storage.
