Daugherty, 77, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Life Care Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was born on January 10, 1946, in Monroeville, Indiana to the late LeRoy Daugherty and the late Mable (Shirely) Daugherty. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam conflict from 1967 to 1968.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John was united in marriage to Deborahjo Lopshire on December 1, 1969, she preceded him in death.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was a member of the Allen County 4-H Club and a former member of Monroeville UM Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John graduated from Hoagland High School in 1964. &nbsp;He worked as a Supervisor for Glenbrook Mall for over 15 years. &nbsp;He also worked for Walmart on Maysville Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball for many years in Monroeville. He also enjoyed playing cards, watching sports events, and spending time with his grandchildren. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Survivors include his two sons, Kerry (Lisa) Daugherty and Jamie (Danielle) Daugherty both of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Sheryl Daugherty of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Bryon, Jesse, Kyle, Dakota, and AJ Daugherty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John was proceeded in death by his son, Christopher Daugherty; two brothers, Rex Daugherty and William Daugherty; and two sisters, Maxine Brown and Shirley DeWitt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A public graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 at Monroeville Cemetery with Pastor Ralph Klinker officiating. Military graveside honors will be rendered by American Legion Post #420.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred memorials can be given to the Wounded Warrior Project or American Legion Post #420 and mailed to the Zwick &amp; Jahn Funeral Home \u2013 520 N. 2nd St. Decatur, Indiana 46733.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrangements are by the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John L.
