It’s been a year full of firsts for local cross country runners. The first sectional not held at Bellmont in a lifetime. The first team sectional title for the Adams Central Girls. And now a first look at the new regional format. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It may be called a regional by the IHSAA, but it won’t be much different than the old semi-state. Under the new format, the top 15 individuals will advance once they exclude all the runners from the top five advancing teams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are now five of these regionals, whereas there were once four semi-states leading up to the State Finals. Saturday’s race will be held at the Plex off Coliseum in Fort Wayne with the boys running at 10:30 a.m. and the girls running thereafter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
