{"id":8515,"date":"2023-10-20T12:53:36","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T16:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=8515"},"modified":"2023-10-20T12:53:39","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T16:53:39","slug":"mcelhatten-joining-salt-lake-city-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2023\/10\/20\/mcelhatten-joining-salt-lake-city-station\/","title":{"rendered":"McElhatten joining Salt Lake City station"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brien McElhatten, surprisingly let go by WPTA TV in Fort Wayne in late August, will be joining a Salt Lake City television station in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McElhatten and his wife, the former Krista Miller, a Decatur native, had formed a highly-regarded anchor team for several years at 21 Alive before his unceremoniously sudden firing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Krista has since left the station, signing off on Oct. 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McElhatten will be anchoring for ABC4News in Salt Lake City, beginning Dec. 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am so pleased we were able to attract a top-notch talent like Brien McElhatten,\u201d Nancy Bauer, Director of News at ABC4\/CW30, said in making the announcement. \u201cBrien is a strong journalist, who loves to tell stories about the people in his community. He will be a great addition to our ABC4 family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The McElhattens \u2013 Brien, Krista, and two-year-old daughter Milllie (see photo) \u2013 will be relocating to Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ABC4 announcement said McElhatten \u201chas already made an impact and achieved quite a lot in the 15 years since launching his journalism and storytelling career in 2008 at WPTA in Fort Wayne, Ind.
