Krista Miller McElhatten is leaving channel 21, WPTA-TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She announced on Facebook this evening (Thursday) that her final 21Alive newscast would be at 7 p.m. Friday. She now does the 7 and 11 p.m. newscasts on the Fort Wayne station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her departure follows the sudden apparent firing of her husband and co-anchor, Brian, in mid-August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither Krista nor Brian has announced any future plans at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the FB post, Miller said: \u201cAfter three and a half years back in Fort Wayne, my time at 21Alive is coming to an end. My last newscast is tomorrow (Friday) at 7 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was my dream to anchor the news on 21Alive, and to get to do that alongside my husband was truly a gift.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you for welcoming me into your homes, trusting me to share your stories and making this such an adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miller started at WPTA in March of 2020, following a couple of years in the news division at KAKE-TV, an ABC station in Wichita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her first job in TV was with what is now Fort Wayne’s NBC, channel 33, as a reporter and anchor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miller is a Decatur native, the daughter of Adam and Susan Miller of rural Decatur. After graduation from Bellmont High School in 2009, she studied at Butler University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in electronic journalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
