274 teams across Indiana will compete in next week’s sectional tournaments across three classes, with six teams set to play in the State Finals at “The Mike” in Indianapolis on the campus of IUPUI at the end of the month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year there are 93 teams in 3A, 92 in 2A and 89 in 1A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The South Adams Starfires are one of 274 teams set to compete in the 2023 IHSAA State Tournament. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Top-ranked teams in each class include Carmel at 3A and neighboring Guerin Catholic in 2A. Two-time defending state champions Evansville Memorial are ranked 7th in the latest poll. Providence are ranked #1 in the state’s small-school division. Memorial have the longest win streak in the state when it comes to postseason matches, having won the last 13 matches in a row. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Penn Kingsmen have won 16 consecutive sectional titles, while Carroll (Fort Wayne)’s streak sits at 10 in a row. The Bellmont Braves are next on that list with seven straight trophies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ISCA poll, most recently published on September 18th, has Leo #4 in 2A and Bellmont at #5. The two teams met in last year’s regional and the Braves got the better of the Lions in a thrilling, 1-0 victory earlier this month. Bishop Dwenger are ranked #9 in 2A. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
