With the first practice just five weeks away, it’s never too early to start talking about high school wrestling on WZBD. From wrestle-offs to the State Finals extravaganza that will take place in Evansville this year and everywhere in between, 92.7 FM and the Z-Team will be there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few highlights from the 2023-24 broadcast schedule:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-The first broadcast of the season will be the Bellmont wrestle-offs, which were held outdoors last year on Madison Street Plaza. That broadcast will be on November 9th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-South Adams is one of the teams attempting to take the last spot in the 1A Team State Finals and they’ll have a great chance to pad their resume when the Cowan Blackhawks come to Berne on November 28th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

-WZBD will continue to bring you the best coverage of the conference duals in the ACAC and in the NE8. We will have Friday night coverage of one event and we will be at the other event for Saturday, cherry-picking the very best matches for our listeners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

-The Adams Central BAGUBAS will travel to Bellmont on December 21st for the classic rivalry match with the Braves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

-The greatest high school wrestling tournament in the Midwest will once again be part of WZBD’s coverage as we bring you the placement rounds of the Al Smith Invite in Mishawaka on December 30th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-WZBD will once again provide coverage of both the 1A and 2A Team State tournaments, with separate crews broadcasting from the 1A event at Rochester and from Jay County for 2A. It will be a non-stop day of coverage as local teams attempt to win a Team State title. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-92.7 FM will cover every round of every tournament of this year’s IHSAA state tournament, all the way through the championship bout at heavyweight in Evansville on February 17th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
