With that mindset, Bellmont senior Duke Myers made his decision Friday, committing his collegiate wrestling career to Michigan State University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Spartans are coached by Roger Chandler, a former teammate of Myers’ father, Tim, who is his current head coach at Bellmont. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, Duke attended a Michigan State match with teammates and coaches. The experience stuck with him, even after visits to Princeton and to his father’s alma mater, Indiana University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think I just really like green,” Myers joked Friday. “But honestly it’s really cool to think about yourself as a Big Ten wrestler. Now that I have this decision out of the way, I think it allows me to focus on my senior year and reaching my goals. I don’t have that pressure of having to think about where I am going.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myers plans to wrestle 165 in college and he is the first commit of his graduating class to MSU. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
