{"id":5929,"date":"2023-08-31T05:56:20","date_gmt":"2023-08-31T09:56:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=5929"},"modified":"2023-08-31T05:56:22","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T09:56:22","slug":"land-survey-set-at-merit-patton-elevated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2023\/08\/31\/land-survey-set-at-merit-patton-elevated\/","title":{"rendered":"Land survey set at MERIT; Patton elevated"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Decatur&#8217;s Board of Works and Safety recently took another step in solidifying its inter-local agreement with Adams County in the move toward a countywide transportation service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At its latest meeting, the board gave its approval to have Miller Land Surveying survey a small piece of land near the MERIT Center, which formerly was the Northwest School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city owns the MERIT Center (photo) and land surrounding it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moving toward the establishment of a countywide transportation service, the city and county recently approved an inter-local agreement between the two which establishes certain criteria for the new service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of that agreement, the city sold .7 of an acre of land in the northwest corner of the MERIT Center lot to the county for $200,000. Second St. downtown and will have its name on a mural on the side of the building which faces north and overlooks a parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* An ordinance to establish a handicap parking place at 353 S.
