The first series of head-to-head matches between Adams County schools took place Monday in Decatur and it was the South Adams Starfires who took the first step towards a title of “County Champs” with a convincing 5-0 sweep, dropping just 17 games across the ten sets on the five different courts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Starfires were especially dominant on the singles courts, dropping very few points on their own serves and taking advantage of plenty of opportunities on break points. No. 1 Conner Hyman won 6-1, 6-1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next county match takes place Tuesday when the Jets head north against Bellmont. If Adams Central picks up the win, they will be playing South Adams next Tuesday (September 5th) to clinch the county title. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
