The Heritage Patriots took charge of the Norse Invite at Northfield High School Saturday and returned home to Monroeville Road with a trophy in hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head coach Matt Smith praised the efforts of his team, especially Jaxon Hoting, who led a trio of Patriot runners in the top ten. Hoting finished fourth in 18:23.4, helping Heritage to a 20-point victory over second-place Manchester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also in the top ten were Corban Roth (6th in 18:35) and Marshall Harris (10th in 19:14). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Patriots got excellent results from Hayden Amstein and Cooper Naatz, as well, with both runners breaking the 20-minute mark and finishing in the top 20. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the girls’ race, Heritage finished in fourth place. Woodlan put five runners in the top 13 to win the team race. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ava Smith had the best time for the Pats, taking sixteenth place in 25:12. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elise Hissong crossed the line directly after Smith in 17th. Danica Fuller finished 20th in 26:21. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
