He handed the ball off to Colt Bollenbacher, who took it to the house for 28 yards and the score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the first quarter ended, the Stars were back in the west end zone, with Wanner keeping it himself for a one-yard score.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"http:\/\/98.158.76.108\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/img_7472.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Owen Wanner takes it into the end zone himself for the score. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just Owen doing Owen Wanner things,\u201d coach Grant Moser said after the game.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Starfires took to the air in the second quarter, catching three TD passes to head into the locker rooms with a 41-0 lead. Freshman Wes Summersett caught one for seven yards, then Wanner hit Neuenschwander from 20 yards out. The running clock was triggered with less than two minutes in the first half remaining as Wanner looked left and then looked right, finding Isaac Dee in the flat. Dee went 30 yards down the Braves\u2019 sideline for the score, raising the ball in the air at the goal line to signal his team\u2019s dominance of the opening quarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"320\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 568 \/ 320;\" width=\"568\" controls src=\"http:\/\/98.158.76.108\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Video-1.mov\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Owen Wanner hits Isaac Dee for a touchdown pass at the end of the first half. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Trying to come to grips with the loss of senior running back Aiden Miller in last week\u2019s game against Heritage, coach Nick Hall made the decision to pull his all-conference lineman, Dylan Velez, and to put the ball in his senior\u2019s hands as much as possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Velez carried the ball 19 times for a respectable 87 yards in his debut as a skill player, but he was hampered by a lack of secondary offensive options for the Braves. He made one catch for 15 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1920\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1080 \/ 1920;\" width=\"1080\" controls src=\"http:\/\/98.158.76.108\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Sequence-01_1.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rest of the team managed just 69 yards of offense. Quarterback Will Franze, who was 3 of 8 for 19 yards, was replaced in the second half by Easton Curtis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur defense was prepared,\u201d Moser praised. \u201cI have to give credit to my D coaches, they forced turnovers and mistakes all night.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the lopsided score, coach Moser feels better times lie ahead for the Braves.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seamlessgutter.net\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"224\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/98.158.76.108\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Sure-FloLogo-600w.jpg?resize=600%2C224\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5054\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Sure-FloLogo-600w.jpg?w=600&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Sure-FloLogo-600w.jpg?resize=300%2C112&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was legit scared heading into this one,\u201d he told WZBD. \u201cI\u2019d like someone to line up our 22 guys with theirs and they\u2019re bigger and stronger than us, there\u2019s no doubt. Great game for him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now the focus shifts to the ACAC and coach Moser knows that the conference is as strong as ever, especially the offenses.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCoach Kunkel at Bluffton told me they\u2019ve scored on every possession this year,\u201d Moser said with a laugh. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be fun.
