He said he paid one $410 fine but \u201cwas mostly unaware of anything behind that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also said the home&#8217;s tenants had been several months behind in their rent and have now been evicted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In asking for \u201ca break,\u201d Dale said he is currently maintaining the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>City Attorney Anne Razo said the city followed all legal policies and procedures in assessing the fines and liens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI didn&#8217;t ignore it, I wasn&#8217;t snubbing my nose at the city, I just wasn&#8217;t aware,\u201d Dale responded. \u201cI&#8217;m just asking you for some grace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asked what he planned to do with the property \u2013 which is a stone&#8217;s throw from the rear of the Decatur Church of God and its playground area, Dale said he plans to \u201cfix it up and sell it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Board member Tyler Fullenkamp said he would be willing to forgive half the fines if Dale got the place cleaned up \u2013 including holes in the roof of an outbuilding \u2013 within three months.
