Tyra Kolter is the latest recipient of a Daisy Award, a quarterly honor given by Adams Health Network to one of its nurses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award is part of The DAISY Foundation\u2019s mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care they provide to patients and families every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyra is a nurse in the office of Dr. Keith Harvey and NP-C Alicia Brincefield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nurses may be nominated by patients, families and colleagues. The award recipient is chosen by a committee at Adams Health Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each honoree receives a certificate commending her or him as an \u201cExtraordinary Nurse.\u201d The certificate reads: \u201cIn deep appreciation of all you do, who you are and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chosen nurse also receives a DAISY Award pin and a sculpture called A Healer\u2019s Touch, hand-carved by artists of the Shona tribe in Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AMH’s chief nursing officer Chris Butler says on an Adams Memorial Hospital website, \u201cNurses are heroes every day. It’s important that our nurses know their work is highly valued and the DAISY Foundation provides us a way to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
