It wasn’t quite the match of last year’s two-day sesquicentennial (150 years) event, but ideal weather brought a large crowd to Geneva on Saturday as the town celebrated its annual Summer’s End Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music and fun, food and beer, antique tractors and fire trucks were among the day’s features, along with sunny skies and warm temperatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 14 vendors were set up on the main drag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music began at 5 p.m. on the High St. stage and went well into the night, with three bands: Trevor Hunt and the Sleepers, the Sweetwater All-Stars, and the Austin City band from Bluffton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fort Wayne-based Sweetwater band (photo) was the main attraction, performing for the first time in Geneva. Among the band was trombonist Chuck Surack, the Fort Wayne philanthropist who founded Sweetwater Sound, Inc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
