Bellmont and Heritage competed in the annual Concordia Invite Saturday, which was dominated by Homestead and Carroll, as Taylor Larkins earned medalist honors for the Chargers with an incredible round of 65. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larkin\u2019s round included five birdies and an eagle, but she was not the only girl who had circles on her scorecard, with Bellmont\u2019s Ella Hockemeyer recording an eagle on her second hole (No. 15) and later a birdie on No. 9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe was up and down,\u201d said coach Macke of his sophomore, \u201cbut she had some excellent holes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coach was content with his team\u2019s progress on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs a team, having four hanging around the 100 mark is pretty solid and the 405 is our best 18-hole score of the season,\u201d he noted. \u201cIt was pretty wet and dewy, which made the first few holes play even longer, but the girls stuck with it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abigail Blythe led the team with a 99, while Krosbi Butler was consistent, finishing with a 103. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAbigail and Krosbi were our most consistent scorers on the day,\u201d said Macke. \u201cEach of them stayed away from the big numbers on the day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macke also praised the fight in Meghan Pettibone\u2019s spirit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe played better,\u201d said Macke of his senior\u2019s round of 102. \u201cShe started on No. 13 and was about even bogey through No. 18, then her recent swing issues crept in for a few holes, but she turned it around to finish fairly strong. Her 47 on the back was a good sign moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Heritage Patriots it was somewhat of a round to forget as they struggled with the conditions and could not overcome the wet conditions. Natalie Otte had a couple of nice holes, including a par on the eleventh hole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
