{"id":5144,"date":"2023-08-11T10:19:57","date_gmt":"2023-08-11T14:19:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=5144"},"modified":"2023-08-11T10:19:59","modified_gmt":"2023-08-11T14:19:59","slug":"property-cleanup-okayed-by-decatur-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2023\/08\/11\/property-cleanup-okayed-by-decatur-board\/","title":{"rendered":"Property cleanup okayed by Decatur board"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Decatur Board of Works and Safety has given the city&#8217;s building and zoning department the go-ahead to clean up a property owned by a company in South Carolina which continues to ignore city demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The home, at 516 Niblick St., is owned by Fixed Pads Holdings of Lexington, SC, department superintendent Curt Witte told the board at its recent meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The property has \u201cgone through several owners,\u201d he said. The latest owner had taken out some city permits and as of March a considerable amount of work had been done on the inside of the building \u2013 but without any required city inspections. So a stop-work order was issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Little has been done since then \u2013 although the grass was mowed and a lawn mower was sitting out front (see photo) in a recent check \u2013 and several phone calls with Fixed Pads have yielded no results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holes in the structure probably means \u201cbirds are flying in there,\u201d Witte noted.
