The City of Decatur’s property tax rates for 2027 will be $1.5067 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a public hearing in which no public comments were aired, city council recently approved on one reading a $15,127,030. budget for next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A final vote and expected approval is scheduled for the Oct. 6 council meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once final approval is given, city Clerk-Treasurer Eran Hackman will submit the 2027 budget and the adopted ordinance to the state Department of Local Government Finance for its review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new budget represents an increase of less than 1% over the current budget of $14,579,622.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
