Shown is the first 2023 William and Eleanor Morris Memorial Scholar, Cora Baker of South Adams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This scholarship, endowed in a fund at the Adams County Community Foundation is in memory of Eleanor Morris and her husband, William. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eleanor was a superb musician and held many impressive positions, but as many people many people may know, she was the first executive director of the Adams County Community Foundation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bill spent time in the Army, graduated from Ball State and was a retired educator, initially teaching history and coaching basketball. Bill became Geneva High School\u2019s principal at the age of 27 and was one of the youngest principals ever in Indiana. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baker will be attending IUPUC (Columbus, IN) to major in nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For nonprofit organizations serving Adams County residents, the next grant cycle due date is Wednesday, July 12, 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 2024 graduating high school seniors wishing to apply for the Lilly scholarship through the ACCF, this due date will be Wednesday, September 13, 2023 by 4:00 p.m. For current college students, the next due date is Wed., November 1, 2023 (students can apply only once during a calendar year). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
