Many were expecting a shootout when South Adams and Bluffton took the field to open up ACAC play Friday night. However, it would end up being a runaway…literally…as Bluffton won 50-15. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Starfires got on the board on their first possession, finishing with a 17-yard pass from Zaden Baumer to Colton Sprunger, and converted on a two-point conversion. The Bluffton offensive line started to show their dominance early and often, as the Tigers went on to score three straight rushing touchdowns to bridge the first and second quarters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quarterback Axton Beste got the first two, while Cooper Craig punched one in 13 seconds into the second quarter. Baumer later connected with Wes Summersett on a bullet of a pass into double coverage on a 14-yard strike for what would end up being the final score for the Starfires. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tiger lines showed their strength for the rest of the game as Craig rushed for two more touchdowns, and Beste added a third to his total as well. The final score came from the Bluffton defense. With South Adams driving deep into the red zone, Sty Pyle fumbled the ball, and Eli Kerner scooped it up and, with the help of a couple of blockers, returned it 93 yards for a touchdown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tigers outgained the Starfires on the ground 405-34, as Beste ran for 191 yards and Craig added 172. Bluffton improves to 3-0 (1-0 ACAC) and will host Woodlan Friday night, while South Adams falls to 1-2 (0-1 ACAC) and will travel to Heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
