A losing streak that had reached nine matches over two weeks was finally snapped Thursday night as the Bellmont Braves downed the Snider Panthers in four sets, while Adams Central continued to roll against Bishop Luers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BELLMONT AT SNIDER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Braves came out firing in the first set, winning handily at 25-11. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snider tightened things up and forced the Braves all the way to 25-23. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Panthers avoided the sweep by reversing that score and winning set number three at 25-23 themselves, but Bellmont took care of things in the fourth (25-22) and assured that Snider would have no chance of making it in interesting in a fifth set. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belle Gumbel and Ashlyn Baumann led the way for the Braves with nine kills apiece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshman Emie Krull had 24 assists and was also 2-for-2 on kill attempts. She also had two aces and nine digs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brea Shoaf led the team in kill attempts and had two solo blocks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Braves will play three of the top four teams in the state over the weekend at Carroll with games against the #1 Chargers, #4 Chesterton and #3 Hamilton Southeastern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nine-match losing streak included losses to #2 Westfield, #7 Yorktown, and #14 overall Zionsville. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
