{"id":38713,"date":"2026-08-26T07:09:54","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T11:09:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=38713"},"modified":"2026-08-27T09:17:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:17:16","slug":"non-profit-group-wants-to-save-golden-meadows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2026\/08\/26\/non-profit-group-wants-to-save-golden-meadows\/","title":{"rendered":"Non-profit group wants to save Golden Meadows"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A non-profit group wants to save the old Adams County Golden Meadows Home from the wrecking ball, and the County Commissioners are listening eagerly to their proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Saving Old Properties, Incorporated&#8221; started several years ago in Blackford County when they saved the 150 year old Blackford County Jail from being torn down just so they could save a historic building from being demolished.  The building was spared, rehabilitated, and is now rented out on a regular basis.  The group would like to do the same with Golden Meadows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dan Allen and his brother Richard head up the group.  Dan spoke with WZBD&#8217;s Ed Thurman about what they see in the old Golden Meadows building&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/702_1540.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The County Commissioners want to hear more from the group and have given them 90 days to make a formal proposal on the Golden Meadows property.
