{"id":37984,"date":"2026-08-05T07:43:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T11:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=37984"},"modified":"2026-08-05T07:43:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T11:43:16","slug":"festival-de-hispanos-returning-to-decatur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2026\/08\/05\/festival-de-hispanos-returning-to-decatur\/","title":{"rendered":"Festival De Hispanos returning to Decatur"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By BOB SHRALUKA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>WZBD.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Festival De Hispanos will be returning to Decatur in September!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Victor and Carson Canales, father and son, were on hand at Tuesday night&#8217;s city council meeting to make a formal announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event will be held on the Madison St. Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 19 with expanded hours: 2-10 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will be the third year the Canales family has brought the highly-popular festival to Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Honegger Bluffton MR P Kitchen Remodel\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lywWIi9Ef4U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Mr. Planners in Decatur is proud to sponsor news coverage on WZBD.com!<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event, which features Hispanic food and culture, has turned out large crowds in previous years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carson Canales is heading this year&#8217;s festival. \u201cWe are very excited,\u201d he told council. \u201cWe have many things which will be going on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Victor Canales said there will be at least 10 food trucks, featuring cuisine from several nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the headline acts will be MariachiEco, an ensemble from Goshen.
