Larry G. Simons, 78 of Craigville, passed away on Friday evening, July 31, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larry was born on May 3, 1948, in Portland to Troy A. and Marjorie S. (Stultz) Simons. He graduated from Bluffton High School. He served his county in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam, being honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1969.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 15, 1986, Larry and Sandra Swafford were married in Florida. The couple lived in Royal Palm Beach, FL. for many years. While in Florida, Larry worked for the Florida Department of Corrections, where he took care of the department\u2019s artillery. The couple moved back to Wells County in 2000. Larry drove truck for Schneider Trucking for 14 years before retiring. Larry was skilled in karate and won many trophies. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football and basketball, and he always enjoyed working out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra of Craigville, a son Shane Marks of Craigville and his siblings; James T. (Anita) Simons of Decatur, Michael M. (Gloria) Simons of Portland, Linda Ruth Holmes of Fort Wayne, Sherri Patterson of Albion and Jeff Patterson of Bluffton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary L. Simons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Thoma\/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor Steve Johnson and Larry Walker officiating. Larry will receive full military honors by the American Legion Post #111 Honor Guard and the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard at the conclusion of the service.
Visitation will take place from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. on Thursday (August 6, 2026) at the funeral home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
