{"id":37837,"date":"2026-07-23T07:08:23","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T11:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/?p=37837"},"modified":"2026-07-23T07:08:23","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T11:08:23","slug":"adm-general-mills-and-walmart-partnering-to-bring-more-regenerative-practices-to-indiana-wheat-fields","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wzbd.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/23\/adm-general-mills-and-walmart-partnering-to-bring-more-regenerative-practices-to-indiana-wheat-fields\/","title":{"rendered":"ADM, General Mills and Walmart partnering to bring more regenerative practices to Indiana wheat fields"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>JARED WHITE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Brownfield Ag News<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The director of regenerative agriculture with ADM says a new partnership is bringing more support for conservation efforts across 40,000 Midwestern wheat acres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paul Scheetz says the company is collaborating with General Mills and Walmart to advance sustainable agricultural practices that help build a stronger, more resilient food system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re incentivizing farmers to adopt practices specifically around wheat in Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri.\u201d&nbsp; He says, \u201cYou know, reduced tillage practices, fertilizer efficiency, cover crop and living root type of practices. And it\u2019s gone really successful. We\u2019ve got a chance to enroll over 200 farmers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He tells Brownfield the program helps address early barriers to adoption of regenerative practices, encourages broader participation and supports measurable environmental outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s pretty gratifying to understand that between ourselves, General Mills, and Walmart, that we have to remove the burden on the farmer to take on all the risks by providing incentives and technical assistance to ultimately execute some of these practices,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scheetz says the collaboration builds on each company\u2019s existing commitments to safeguard soil health more sustainably for the future of agriculture.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe surveyed about 1,000 farmers where we asked them, did enrolling in the program have a positive impact on your bottom line?\u201d&nbsp;
