For Ashley Thieme Stockwell, \u201cthe pure American traditions that are a part of the Indy 500, make being at IMS (Indianapolis Motor Speedway), for the biggest spectacle of racing, purely electric!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those were the words the former Heritage High School student posted on her Facebook page after delivering the traditional bottle of milk to 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stockwell had been chosen by the American Dairy Association to do the honors on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom the police escort in, talking to (IU) coach (Curt) Cignetti, to being on Fox and Friends, and ending in victory circle celebrating with Felix Rosenqvist drinking ice cold whole milk!\u201d she posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot to mention the special clip that FoxSports created of our family farm and having our daughter be the voice over for it \u2013 it was all more than I ever imagined would happen when I said yes to marrying a dairy farmer all those years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI thank God daily for the life I\u2019ve been given and for the blessings and adventures he continues to provide for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year, the American Dairy Association selects two people to represent it at the milk tradition at the 500. A \u201crookie\u201d hands a bottle of milk to the winning driver\u2019s chief mechanic and team owner while the \u201cveteran\u201d gives a bottle of milk to the winning driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stockwell was the \u201crookie\u201d last year and then stepped up to the \u201cveteran\u201d role this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrying to find the words to explain what this past weekend meant to myself and my family,\u201d Stockwell posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFirst off, I have the world\u2019s best hype-man and husband. Kyle is the person who talked me into doing the milk presenting for the Indy 500 to represent our farm, our family and the nearly 700 Indiana dairy farm families. Without his encouragement to apply and his support along the way, this wouldn\u2019t have been possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut what a freaking experience! The fact that we have the freedom to dairy farm, to race, and celebrate is something alone that not everyone can say.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stockwell and her husband, Kyle \u2013 the parents of four children \u2013 are part of a Stockwell family-owned dairy farm which milks 750 cows and farms on nearly 1,100 acres near Hudson in Steuben County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her father, Todd Thieme, is assistant principal and athletic director at Southern Wells High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Todd, former assistant principal at Bellmont High School, is the son of the late Leonard and Judy Thieme, longtime Union Township farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stockwell closed her Facebook post with the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
