Rangel, 80, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026. He was born on October 7, 1945, in Edcouch, Texas, to Jos\u00e9 and Francisca Martinez Rangel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Roberto married Irma Olivia Serna on May 31, 1969, and together they built a life and family in Decatur, where he became a longtime and beloved member of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"414\" height=\"522\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/6a15e73ea62c2.jpg?resize=414%2C522&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-37116\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/6a15e73ea62c2.jpg?w=414&amp;ssl=1 414w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wzbd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/6a15e73ea62c2.jpg?resize=238%2C300&amp;ssl=1 238w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 414px) 100vw, 414px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A dedicated and hardworking man, Roberto retired in 2010 after a remarkable 40+year career with Jim &amp; Tom Kelly Automotive Group in Fort Wayne,&nbsp;Indiana, where he&nbsp;took great pride in his work as a mechanic,&nbsp;including&nbsp;a memorable turn as a nationwide Mr. Goodwrench spokesperson. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Roberto had a deep love for the game of golf, finding joy and peace on the course in a way that those who knew him will always remember. He was fond of reading and listening to poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is survived by his wife, Irma Rangel of Decatur, Indiana; two sons, Ricardo &#8220;Rick&#8221; Rangel of Wilsonville, Oregon, and Ryan R. Rangel of Decatur, Indiana; one daughter, Mrs. Mark (Rachel) Bienz of Overland Park, Kansas; and six cherished grandchildren, Branden, Owen, Aiden, &amp; Ethan Bienz, Sienna &amp; Sofia Rangel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was preceded in death by his son, Rolando &#8220;Roli&#8221; Rangel, and his sister, Estella R. Alvarez, both of whom he now rejoins in eternal rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visitation will be held on&nbsp;Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 4:00 \u2013 7:00 p.m.&nbsp;at Haggard-Hirschy &amp; Zelt Funeral Home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur, on Friday, May 29, 2026. Visitation will take place in St. Mary\u2019s Parish Hall, prior to the Mass from 10:00 \u2013 11:00 a.m. Father Jacob Runyon will be presiding and burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Decatur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Memorials may be made to Tri Kappa Sorority of Decatur.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Roberto M.
