Liz Bobay clubbed two doubles on Senior Night for the Bellmont Braves, but it was a home run by Maddison Parker in the top of the seventh that put the game out of reach for the East Noble Knights Thursday as they spoiled the night for the Braves’ twelfth graders, winning the NE8 clash, 7-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bobay doubled and scored to tie up the game in the fourth and Chevelle Oetting gave the home team a 2-1 lead with a hard hit to left. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pair of RBI doubles in the fifth put East Noble in front and a costly error in the top of the sixth in the outfield gave the Knights an even bigger cushion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bobay and her classmate, Carissa Mickley, didn’t go down on their big night without a fight, though, with Bobay doubling and scoring again on an RBI by Mickley. That drew the home team within a run, but Abby Alwine got the next two batters out with runners in scoring position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parker’s home run to center with one on and one out put the game out of reach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alwine gave up seven hits in her seven innings of work, striking out one and giving up three earned runs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adi Radecki pitched into the seventh, giving up the home run to Parker. Five of her seven runs allowed were earned and she struck out four. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isabelle Buuck got the last two outs of the seventh after the home run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Braves will play one last home game Friday against Homestead. Their record for the 2026 season stands at 8-9.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
